California Apostille Certification

If you need a California Apostille Certification for your document, the country of destination determines whether the authentication of the document is an Apostille or a Certification.

For example, if you need a authentication for a document being sent to Poland, then the Secretary of State will attach an Apostille to the document.  If the same document was was being sent to China, then the Secretary of State will attach a Certification to the document.  Poland is a member of the Apostille Convention as China is not.

It's important to know which countries are a member of the Apostille convention and which are not.  Below is an image of a California Certification and a California Apostille.  Not the differences in the documents.  Keep in mind that the California Apostille is only attached to a document being sent to a country who is a member of the Apostille Convention.

The California Secretary of State will rubber stamp a red seal to the right hand side of the document overlapping the original document.  This helps protect the integrity of the document.  You can mail us your documents for processing with the Secretary of State in California.  Our office is located minutes away from Downtown Los Angeles allowing us to meet with the secretary of state quickly and at a low fee.
